Your business deserves the best protection and the first line of defence for any property is its perimeter. If this isn’t secure, you’re just trying to protect an open plot of land. So, let’s take a good old look at the benefits you can expect from a perimeter fence, should you decide to erect one – and of course you should, if you haven’t already.

The Loss Prevention Certification Board (LCPB) is responsible for setting the standards for and approving security rated products. The LPS 1175 certification was introduced to ensure buyers knew the strength and security level of their fence. Each fence model is subjected to a set test standard and must withstand a specific type of attack for a minimum number of minutes. Below, you’ll find the ratings, expressed as ‘SR’ then an increasing number, 1 being the lowest, 5 being the highest rating.
Fencing certification ranges form SR1 to SR8, with SR1 proven against minimal levels of force and SR5 currently being the highest level available for fencing. These are the standards from LPS 1175:
Security fencing is best suited for both the commercial and residential places, including:
All of the above concerns house expensive or dangerous equipment, or their occupants will be compromised in a unique way should intruders enter the premises or breach a secure building complex. Perimeter fencing is built to delay any intrusion and ideally prevents it all together. No matter what size of business you operate, a safe perimeter is a secure perimeter.
